Social Audit for NHM
Social Audit is a process in which, details of the resource, both financial and non-financial, used by public agencies for development initiatives are shared with the people, often through a public platform. Social audit is done by the public and the process is facilitated by a social audit team which is independent of the implementing agency/Government.
In the Previous Financial Year SHSRC -Kerala receive the request from the social development wing of the National Health Mission, to develop the proposal for the social audit of FHCs. For the development SHSRC-Kerala have conducted workshops and meeting to develop the tools for the audit. By evaluating and considering the suggestions from the workshop SHSRC formulated the proposal and Submitted to the National Health Mission (NHM).
SHSRC Submitted the Proposal of Social Audit by three levels namely Family Health Center (FHC), Sub-center (SC), and ward level. The process of the audit taken place systematically by Nine different procedure. The systemisation of the arrangement are of Team constitution, Tool development, Sample selection, Entry meetings, Document review, Baseline data collection, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Exit meeting and Audit report. For the implementation of the Proposal SHSRC have also prepared different Guidelines for Family Health Centre (FHC), Sub-centre (SC), and ward level.
