As part of the policy of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of Kerala to strengthen the referral system in the institutions under the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) and the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), SHSRC was entrusted with the task of developing a robust and contemporary referral guideline. After a series of workshops, the developed protocol was discussed in the final Vetting Workshop conducted on 25 May 2024 at SHSRC-K hall. The main agenda of the workshop was to finalise the draft of the Referral Guidelines for final discussions with different stakeholders. The initial phase of the guideline preparation mainly focused on five major specialties namely General Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics. 23 senior specialists and administers in the concerned specialities from DHS and DME participated in the final Vetting Workshop.
