The State Health Systems Resource Centre (SHSRC), Kerala, organized a one-day Consultative Workshop on 1st August 2025 to develop tools for the Research topic evaluation of Kerala state Palliative Care Program in secondary health care settings- A mixed method approach.

The workshop commenced with an opening session and a welcome address by Dr. V. Jithesh, Executive Director of SHSRC-Kerala. This was followed by a presentation from Ms. Nitha J.S, Research Officer at SHSRC-Kerala, who outlined the proposed study methodology and framework for tool development.

Participants included palliative care medical officers, staff nurses, program coordinators, volunteers, and representatives from NGOs, all of whom actively contributed to the discussions. The sessions focused on questionnaire development, review of draft tools, and group presentations, fostering collaborative dialogue aimed at refining strategies for effective program evaluation.

The multidisciplinary engagement and enthusiastic participation throughout the workshop laid a strong foundation for advancing palliative care delivery in Kerala. The insights gathered are expected to play a crucial role in shaping evidence-based evaluation practices and enhancing the quality of care across the state.
