The State Health Systems Resource Centre Kerala (SHSRC–Kerala), in collaboration with the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), organised the State Level Orientation Workshop for the Bhadram – Hospital Disaster Management Plan on 20 July 2026, marking the launch of a statewide initiative to strengthen disaster preparedness across Kerala's healthcare system.

The workshop was virtually inaugurated by Shri K. Muraleedharan, Hon'ble Minister for Health and Devaswoms, who unveiled the Bhadram programme logo. The event was chaired by Dr Renu Raj, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of Health and Executive Director, SHSRC–Kerala. Distinguished guests included Shri Anu S. Nair, IAS, State Mission Director, National Health Mission; Dr V. Meenakshi, Director of Health Services; Dr Shekhar Lukose Kuriakose, Member Secretary, Kerala State Disaster Management Authority; and Dr Reetha K. P, Additional Director of Health Services.
Technical sessions covering the implementation framework, disaster preparedness strategies, and emergency response mechanisms were facilitated by KSDMA Hazard Analysts Fahad Marsooq, Amrida K., and Zia Arun. District Coordinators from all 14 districts of Kerala participated in the orientation, marking a significant milestone in the statewide implementation of the Bhadram – Hospital Disaster Management Plan. The programme reaffirmed Kerala's commitment to building a resilient healthcare system prepared to effectively respond to disasters.
